Local 360

Hello all

I hope that everyone is having a nice and relaxing Sunday.  I know that I have.  Today I decided to try Local 360 (on the corner of first and bell).  I was not too sure what to expect with items coming locally it being the beginning of spring.  Most of their food comes from within 360 miles of the restaurant and from sustainable practices.  After a quick look over the daytime menu online, I knew what I was going to order.

I decided to start my meal with an Alpine Hefeweizen.  I know that it is not the usual mimosa or bloody mary, but I decided that this would make for a much better pairing with the biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs.  I know it is not the typical mimosa, but with it's orange flavors, bubbles, and heaviness, I figured that this would be a wise choice.

The biscuits and gravy were incredible.  I am a huge fan of biscuits and gravy and since moving out west, I thought this might be one of the comfort foods that I would have had to give up. When I saw it on the online menu, I knew what I was going to order.  I decided to get my eggs scrambled.  When my meal was brought out, the gravy was brown and I thought that is going to be really tasty or mediocre.  The flavor was perfect.  In fact, I did not have to add salt.  The biscuits were light and fluffy and complimented the gravy perfectly.  The eggs were cooked perfectly (not runny as you can get sometimes in restaurants and no brown).

This is a place that I know I will be coming back to in the future.  A wine and liquor menu was given with the menu and they have a nice selection of local vodkas.  Lucky for me, Local 360 is close enough for me to stumble the few blocks home.

Until next time, happy dining.
