Welcome to my first blog.
Sunday, I decided to have brunch at Mariposa at Neiman Marcus in Bellevue. I decided to fall back on a favorite of mine from back home. Mariposa at Neiman Marcus in the Bravern did not disappoint and brought back the memories of a simpler time.
As is common with restaurants inside of Neiman Marcus, a little cup of Chicken consume is served right off the start which is followed by a Popover served with strawberry butter. In my opinion, the popover and strawberry butter are reason enough to dine at Mariposa (not to mention the shopping to be done afterwards).
Being Sunday, I decided to start off with a Mimosa and ordered the Steak Diane, Medium Rare. The steak was cooked properly and served with the mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and carrots. The steak was accompanied with a rich shiitake mushroom and peppercorn sauce. I did feel that the steak and potatoes could have used a little bit more salt before cooking, but I am quite fond of salt.
Although the Steak Diane was a generous portion and a third Mimosa, I decided to be a glutton and go with dessert. The server recommended the cookies, but I decided to go with the warm apples and ice cream. The apples were flavorful and properly cooked. They still retained a little crunch to them while still being tender. All of this was topped off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The service was prompt without being rushed. My bill came to a little over $50, but keep in mind that included an Entree, Dessert, and 3 Mimosas.

Until next time, happy dining.
